“…Beware the Ides of March”
William Shakespeare’s tragedy – ‘Julius Caesar’ is brought to life in a forgotten inner Geelong CBD laneway: Short’s Place, this Labor Day long weekend - Sat 11th & Sun 12th March, 2017.
With an all female cast, it clearly promises at least one certainty – Caesar will die tonight!
Told by six tenacious women, this story explores a world driven by ambition, loyalty and betrayal glaringly heightened within the walls of the gritty and secluded CBD backdrop.
A step back in time to the glorious Rome of old, with a play that’s raw, breathless and as blood soaked as any classic tale.
Essential Theatre has built an incredible reputation over the last 15 years, producing innovative and accessible Shakespearian performances, touring Australia and New Zealand with their annual Shakespeare in the Vines shows and is delighted to be back in their home town to present what they do best!
“Essential Theatre’s female cast achieved what Shakespeare didn’t. I am sure he would have applauded.” G McCoubrie, Melbourne Observer.
“This fast paced and lusty production will excite and delight” Sarah W, The Plus Ones.
